"How many crunchwraps were you paid to say that?"
Airsoft is one of my longest-running hobbies. I say that because I'm going on something over ten years playing at this point, the only thing I've been doing for longer is playing video games.
I found the sport in something like 2010. I played at local fields until 2017. School hit, the locals died off, and I did one event a year from 2017 to 2021. 2022 brought me back to playing at open plays. It's 2024 as I write this and I'm finally back to a mix of locals and regional events.
When it comes to replicas, I'm not as much of a collector as I used to be. Nowadays I just try to keep one or two nice options for every different class I could play at events.
My go-to SMG is a VFC UMP45, Maruzen KG-9s are the backup option. My usual rifle is a G&G L85A1 but sometimes I bring out a LCT AKM-63. A LCT PKP is my "arm workout" (MMG), a Modify Styer Scout is my marksman rifle. I'm in the process of building a PM M1910 (Maxim Gun) and DShKM which will serve as my crew-served MMG/"HMG" and actual HMG.
Gun Gamers Productions, an event promoter with staff based out of Western NY, is shaping up to be the main promoter whose events I try to be a regular at. I love the concept of basing everything on The Isle Of Skjult (a completely fake place) with fake armies in a fake war, the encouraged LARP is great, the staff do an amazing job, and the community has just been pleasant.
I completed Trailblazer as Inmate #69105 of the 10th Gojyrian Penal Brigade. Did we get a little rolled at the end? Yeah, no doubt, I was a part of the "christmas tree". Was it still a great time? Yep, I couldn't have asked for a better game. I paid for twelve hours of airsoft and I definitely got my fill.
I had to miss Forn Valley due to a leg injury; It turns out shrapnel doesn't agree with calf muscles. I'll debut a proper LARP character for the Skjult Underworld and hope to be back for 2025.
