---------------------------------------------------------------- I've got to say, three days in and I like this whole "just use an old terminal" workflow. It's quite relaxing. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I was working on the IBM 5150 the other day. Bank 1 Bit 0 had a dead 4116, I replaced it, and then I was getting a PAIRTY ERROR 1 after the thing saying Bank 0 Bit 0 was dead. For what I understand, it's supposed to be impossible for the machine to even get to the point of errors if Bank 0 has dead RAM in it? I desoldered all the old RAM which was a pain in my ass, a few traces got lifted in the process, so I plan on adding fixing the breaks alongside adding sockets for Bank 0 this weekend. Hopefully I'll pass the 201 errors after that's done and I'll be onto getting a keyboard. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The spec for CC-100 got finalized yesterday, I'm excited to get something on here about that as soon as I start working on the schematics. They go something like this: * Major components must have been available in December of '77 * The CPU will be an 1802 * There will be at least 4K of RAM * There will be some amount of ROM * There will be an integrated alphanumeric video terminal * The goal should be running something like Tiny BASIC Should be interesting, right? ---------------------------------------------------------------- It's Friday so some new music came out. Linkin Park put out From Zero. It's okay? I was a fan of some tracks (2, 8, 10) but I really didn't like some of the others (5, 7, 9, 11). Denzel Curry put out the full cut of KOTMS II. I still like the original 15 tracks. The new Track 11 is possibly a favorite, 17 is pretty cool too, and the other three fit well. A friend linked me REACTOR by femtanyl. It's pretty chaotic but in a fun way! Danny Brown sounds surprisingly good over breaks. That was definitely the highlight. The rest was good too. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I added a thing called "blog" where I'll archive these front pages. Hopefully that's cool? I think that will be cool. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Blog section ----------------------------------------------------------------
