Well, a few more feet of snow later and golly gee am I tired of
clearing out the driveway. It isn't even officially winter yet,
that's not for another two weeks I think.

I'm not looking forward to the current weather forecast. It
goes something like this:
* More blizzards today and tomorrow
* Rain from the 8th to the 10th
* Freezing cold and more snow from the 11th onwards
which means that we're going to have a hell of a lot of flooding
in certain areas. Oh joy.

I wasn't sure exactly how bad it was until today. I went to go
top up my one bird feeder, snow filled the thing up so what
little seed remained was hard for anything to get to, and said
snow was going halfway up my thigh. One tape measure later tells
me that I was truding through 32" with drifts up to 44". That's
a bit!

The airsoft plans have changed: I entirely forgot that I do own
a LCT RPK! It's not an original-style RPK, it's a 74M with the
folding stock and black plastic furniture. I got it for a bit of
money years ago as a project gun, I had repaired it, I had run
it for a few years, and then it died again and went back into
my project pile. Good thing I keep inventory sheets.

The two reasons said RPK is back in the project pile are a dead
hop-up chamber, the original one cracked down the middle at a
stress line it seemed to always have, and a dead motor. I had it
set up in a real janky manner, it was downgraded to 0.85J that
way I could repurpose an old 510mm TK Twist barrel.

I'm digging it out of storage before work today because I picked
up a few repair parts,
* Paragon 28TPA motor
* ZCI 409mm barrel
* LCT OEM hop chamber
* EMG Atlas buckings
and I'd like to get them installed for what should be a nice,
modern build on a nice, modernized RPK. Maybe if it all works
out I'll go buy it some nice sort of optic? Who knows.

One more quick airsoft thing, squad formation for Snowblind
(the next game by Gun Gamers Productions) is happening and oh
man I think the LARP unit I'm running with is at 15+ members.
Leadership mentioned that I may be in the position of something
like FTL which should be cool. They also mentioned wanting more
automatic guns so I convinced a buddy to maybe pick up a RPK
that way he can screw around alongside me.

I'm almost geared up for the game, at the moment the only things
left on the list are some good wool long johns, a pair of
gaiters, and fixing up that RPK.

You can definitely say I'm quite excited.

My one ZenMarket box came in the other day so I may as well go
over what was in the thing.

* Power Macintosh 4400/200 + Spare Motherboard
I bought one of these a little while ago as I felt it was the
perfect spec for me, a 200MHz 603e in a neat case with a decent
bit of RAM that runs exactly what I want. It arrived dead, a
battery took out the whole of everything within six inches, and
I determined the board was beyond my own repair skill. A bit of
hunting later and I found another one, specifically shown to
work, and was tipped off about a loose board that wasn't bombed
out. Said 2nd 4400 and board arrived, said 2nd 4400 and board
are in pretty great shape, and I'm pretty confident that both
will work once I get a new 4.5V battery solution hooked up to
them. I don't exactly know what I'll do with two working 4400s
so maybe one will be rehomed via here?

* Exidy Venture
I love Exidy games, some day I plan on making a little area
dedicated to the ones I've collected. Venture is one of the ones
that I've never owned, a Universal boardset title sure but one
that uses components not present on my Fax boards. I somehow
ended up finding one off suruga-ya at a price cheaper than the
US, I ordered it, and it came in. It looks great! A bit dusty
but that's quite okay, I can clean it up. I'll be doing my thing
making a 6502 postcard using it, getting it diagnosed, and
hopefully putting it inside a "consoleized" wooden box similar
to my others for easy playability.

* Mary Joy Recordings' "3MG Live In Tokyo"
A cousin of mine got me into the backpacker side of rap when I
was a teen, 3 Melancholy Gypsys is a group that I've enjoyed
ever since then, and I knew that there was a VHS of them in
Japan but the Discogs price is $100+ on a good day. I figured
I'd try getting it via Yahoo Auctions, $5 later I did just that.
It is ripped and on YouTube but the Discogs box scan is horrible
so I plan on giving them a new one and then just having a neat
tape for the shelf.

* A 14" PVM
I found a kinda cracked-up but not horrible PVM that did work
for cheap as hell, I figured I'd get it as a possible repair
project instead of watching the thing die, and now it's here.
It does still work, that said the bottom two CRT mounts are
shattered and the picture is a little janky. It should be neat
to figure out how to get it looking and working well again.

* Another Famicom + Disk System
I gave my personal Famicom and Disk System away to my friend
Noelle a while ago, she wanted one as a video background prop,
and I figured I may as well get myself a new one. I finally did.
