Work gave out Christmas bonuses the other day. To the surprise
of nobody, mine is basically alraedy gone. It went something
like this:

We were given $2,550.
I instantly sidelined half of the cash and put it towards paying
things like my phone and one of the credit cards fully down.
I took half of the remainder and put it into a HYSA.
I took the last half and kept it out to buy myself a toy or two.

Said "buy myself a toy or two" cash is already gone as for once
in a blue moon, guns.com seemed to have a decent little deal -
a Pioneer Arms PPS-43C (9x19) for $359.99 and fees. Normally I'd
never buy a Pioneer Arms anything, I'm very familiar with the
whole "the front cast trunnion explodes" thing that they had
happen, but I am quite the PPS-43 enjoyer and wanted to see how
their take on the thing matched up against one of my 7.62x25
kit builds.

On the idea of firearm things, every Christmas I meet up with
some buddies from like elementary school through high school. We
get together, buy/build some sort of silly firearms, and have a
little range day.

I'm pretty much already packed and ready to go this year. I'm
just going to bring a bunch of stuff from prior years plus the
new things from this year out, that list being:
* Cursed AR-15            * SKS
* FN Mauser               * Ruger 10/22
* Bullpup Hi-Point 995TS  * Glock 17L
* Baikal Makarov          * PPS-43C
and I have at least a hundred rounds for each thing mentioned.

There's a shot I'm going back to one of the shops tomorrow as I
heard they have a 16ga Ithaca 37 with a standard tube. Would I
prefer a 20/12ga with the riot or extended tube? Yes. Am I going
to turn down a damn-cool shotgun (this one from '43 I think they
said?) for $150? Nah. I'll just get back into reloading shells.

On the idea of "things coming through the mail", my funny new PC
case comes tomorrow! Like I've mentioned, I ordered the big 'ol
Thermaltake W200. Is it ridiculous? Yeah. Do I like that? Also
yeah.

I won't actually be setting it up (or moving my board into it)
for a bit, I've got a lot of cleaning to do so I can make the
pedastal part of my bench layout, but once said cleaning is done
it's going to be the sweetest thing. Have I mentioned how much
I'm looking forward to having 5.25" bays again?

The only issue is that this one PC now requires me to dedicate
to building some sort of LAN rig. We do have LAN parties at one
spot in town sometimes and I don't want to drag a minifridge of
a PC case to said parties unless I have both sides populated for
games, something I won't be doing. I did see people say that the
new $250 Intel GPUs are pretty damn cool and Microcenter has all
sorts of good mobo + CPU + RAM bundles, maybe I could set a lil
1080p rig up for pretty cheap?
----------------------------------------------------------------
Airsoft planning is going quite well, I definitely need to
memorize more of the tactics stuff but I know enough to hold my
own at the moment so I'm not stressing too much.

I ended up ordering more RPK guts, specifically a few hundred
shims via aliexpress, so I'll be waiting to actually work on the
thing until said shims come in. If I'm opening the gearbox, I
figure I may as well just do the damn job and make sure all my
gears are meshing as good as possible...
----------------------------------------------------------------
On the idea of Aliexpress orders, I mentioned it on the (draft)
of the Famicom page, but I got an Aliexpress Famicom flash cart.

Will it be any good? No idea but I sure hope so!

I'm also just ordering the eight more games I want via ZenMarket
that way I have the real carts.
----------------------------------------------------------------
At some point I'll be adding more birds to the birds page, I've
gotten a ton of cute videos with the BirdBuddy feeder, and
I should be writing about the little Cardinal terminal that I've
experimented with using to edit this site as well.
