Bleep bloop.
The enjoyment shouldn't be too hard to tell. The highlights every year include going to shows for classic electronics, I ramble about the things all the time, and I named everything after a CPU. A good CPU if I say so myself!
Similarly to "nowadays vs. a few years ago" when it comes to airsoft, I'm not as much of a collector as I used to be. No more "owning every PC-9800" me. My focus is still pretty broad, I'll take in anything from a PDP-8 to a ~386-era IBM (clone/compatible), but I don't just buy everything that looks to be at a decent price. '70s and early '80s stuff gets priority over anything later. I'd currently rather have fifty working systems over three hundred "various states of repair" systems.
I hope to get into more homebrew stuff at some point soon. I have four or five things that I'd call "90% complete". A few of my PC-9801 clone boards that don't require tons of bodge wires are in the wild, I sold one assembled unit and some bare PCBs at a con in Pittsburgh. I have all the KiCad files for a Pyuuta Jr. modded for SRAM and MSX-spec joysticks, I just need to route it. I've slowly been working on replicating DEC KA11 bits. I just don't feel confident enough publishing anything yet. Some day.
With everything being reset, I need to remake all my little computer pages. The plan this time around is to tackle pages in whatever order that I get systems running. The first "goal" is Cleveland Gaming Classic '24, a show where I want to have at least five working things on display.
