I'm CDP, you can also call me Andrew. I live in Pennsylvania, I commonly travel to places like Boston, Ohio, and New York to see friends and have fun. I currently work in plastics, an industry that I find kinda neat albeit flawed. I opened this website in 2022 as a way to document my stuff, my projects, and my thoughts. All sections correspond to a main hobby of mine.
Computers are my real main focus, they've been a big hobby of mine since I was a kid. I'd say my Apple II+ is my favorite system since it was my first. The RCA 1802 was the first processor that I ever sat down and learned machine code for, I was really intent on wanting to make a Studio II game when I was younger, which is why I started using "CDP" as a name. I really do love '70s and early '80s systems the most.
Music is huge to me, I play a few instruments and listen to a lot of albums. I put a ton of value into live music, concerts are almost always what I travel for. I couldn't name a favorite album but it would probably be between Atmoshpere's Sad Clown Bad Dub 2, The Amity Affliction's Chasing Ghosts, or The Hurting by Tears for Fears. Some day I'd like to try recording something of my own.
Firearms/airsoft and tabletop games are tied for the "third biggest" hobby of mine, both have been constants in my life since childhood and I see both as outlets for similar-yet-different desires. Firearms satisfy a lot of my desires to play with mechanical things, I find a fascination in how they work. Tabletop games are one of my best creative outlets, I've been writing all sorts of cyberpunk and dnd games since 2010 or so. Mix the two and you get the style of airsoft I love the most, a good focus on game design to keep players entertained while they get to toy about with a replica firearm-based sport.
The more time that goes on, the more I've been able to hone my focuses and goals. As things stand in October of 2024, I'd like to work on bringing out more of my creative side and publishing projects that others hopefully can find some enjoyment in. I'm pushing for getting myself out to more events, meeting more people in the computer scene while also just working on physical fitness so I can push the styles of play that I like in the ever-growing amount of airsoft events that I attend. It's all a challenge due to mental health struggles but I'm sure I'll find a way to work thorugh things.
